Educating the Whole Child

There is a strong emphasis on Religious Education in our School. While many of our students are non-Catholic the school is conscious of being faithful to the needs of all students, while embracing the Catholic tradition. Particular focus, in all year levels, is placed upon morning literacy and numeracy blocks that are separated by daily fruit and fitness times.

St Joseph’s has small class sizes and offers extra help to children who need support with their daily program. We provide children in the Early and Primary Years with reading assistance through programs such as Reading Recovery and Lexiles. The Middle Years students have the opportunity for assistance with Numeracy through the Quicksmart program. All students’ progress is monitored carefully and teachers program according to each student’s individual needs and learning style.

The school offers the opportunity for participation in the biannual school production.

Safe Environments For All

We know that the safety and wellbeing of your child is your highest priority...

Every child has the right to be safe and free from all kinds of abuse, including bullying and harassment, and neglect.

Schools are mandated child safe environments with legal, policy and procedural requirements for staff and volunteers.

The South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) requires its schools to implement child safety policies and practices, including child safety education.
